Then and Now... (POST #1)

When I reflect on where I was two years ago and where I am today, I feel very grateful and blessed. I feel like I was given a second chance to achieve my goal at becoming a nurse. Coming to Northwest was the best thing that happened to me. The environment is very different then that of the University of Washington where I had previously gone. Here I feel like my study habits have improved and that I actually enjoy school. Nursing has always been a passion of mine ever since I was a little child. I grew up around nursing as both my parents are nurses as well as many of my aunts and uncles. Although only three weeks of school have gone by, I have enjoyed every bit of it. I have learned so much and look forward to my journey becoming a nurse.

I am in total agreement with you. This being my second degree it is amazing what committed profs and a change in study habits can do. I really feel that this degree is the one I look back on with pride because I will have poured myself into it. Plus it is nice to have a few good nursing brothers instead of only sisters to help you along. Stay strong.

P.S.
no judgment

It was fun to read that your family has been in nursing. I wonder if you always pictured yourself in that field too- sounds like it!

My parents are nurses, as well as other family members. The strange thing is that I never, NEVER EVER thought I would be a nurse! I have been out of school for quite a while and have had some wonderful adventures. In the last few years I began to see how nursing would compliment other areas of my life and be a great tool for service.

It will be interesting to see how the Lord uses nursing in each of our lives. Can't wait to see the next chapters of your story! I know the Lord will use you in big ways! You seem to have a neat heart for people.

Look forward to being in clinicals with you- don't enjoy your drive too much!(: Janell

Eddie I totally know where you are coming from. Coming from the University of Washington I have noticed how my study habits have also changed also a shift from putting my attention on Jesus rather than my goal.Coming here to Northwest University I have learned to trust God fully although that is very hard to do especially since I like knowing where my life is going to go rather than waitng on the Lord for the next clue. But God is an All knowing God who if full of mercy and grace. Be blessed Edwin you are doing a spectacular job in clinicals.
